Treatments targeting specific area of concern...

A raw honey massage has a variety of advantages including relaxation, healing and nutritive properties. Through the massage, that may range from gentle to intense, the vitamins and nutrients of the honey are absorbed into the skin and deeper tissues. Honey massage increases circulation, improves lymphatic flow, intensifies thermal regulation of the skin and works as an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial as well as anti-allergetic agent. It also has antimicrobial properties, it aids in wound healing and helps reduce the texture of scar tissue and releases adhesions.  The honey is removed from the skin after the massage using hot towels, and you will not be sticky afterwards.

During an acupressure session, you lie fully clothed on a massage table. Gentle pressure is applied on acupressure points on your body. A session typically lasts about one hour. You may need several sessions for the best results.

The goal of acupressure or other types of Asian bodywork is to restore health and balance to the body’s energy channels / meridians and to regulate opposing forces of yin ("negative" energy) and yang ("positive" energy). Some proponents claim acupressure not only treats the energy fields and body but also the mind, emotions, and spirit.

Myofascial Cupping specifically targets the Musculo-Skeletal system to reduce fascial (connective tissue) restrictions , inflammation, adhesions and hypertonicity. Cupping increases blood supply to an area worked, increases ROM (Range Of Motion) and breaks up and expels congestion. There are varying sizes of cups used for different areas. I prefer to use dynamic cupping, where the cups are moved around with the rim of the cup creating a compression. Cupping should be pain free and bruising should be avoided or be kept to a minimum, however in areas of dysfunction you may experience some bruising in the area, which should disappear within several days.

Deep tissue massage is a  therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. The same strokes of a classic massage are used, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper as well as it’s concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia.

One of the primary goals of the Swedish (Relaxation) massage is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by working the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Nevertheless, Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. This type of massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood,  improving circulation and flexibility while reducing tension.

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage. However, slow, steady and firm pressure strokes are applied to treat the deeper layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. It is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension, restoring movement and flexibility to muscles and connective tissue.

Like other types of massage, deep tissue is most beneficial when undertaken on a regular basis, so that therapist and client can work together to correct long term problems, relax the body, and prevent injury.
